Summer may be over in CT, but there is a lot to look forward to this fall. Now that we’ve all settled in after the holiday weekend, the rest of the month is full of a variety of fun events that will keep you busy well into October. Here’s an overview of all the remaining events in Hartford this September:

Wadsworth Summer Lawn Party 

September 17th | 5 - 8 PM

Say your final goodbyes to summer at this free party featuring a live DJ from Cafeteria Radio, a film screening from Revisionist Films, and a basketball hoop for those who want to show off their shooting skills. The free party will also have a cash bar and food trucks available to purchase from.

Salsa Social on Pratt Street 

September 17th | 5 - 8 PM

This free dance party is a local favorite and always draws big crowds when it returns to Pratt Street. Just bring your confidence and comfy shoes and let the instructors show you what to do. Or, sip on a drink from a Pratt Street restaurant and watch a free show from the salsa pros.

Hartford’s L.I.T. Book Festival

September 17th-19th | Various Times

The third annual installment of this event series will bring people of all ages together for a day of readings, spoken word performances, panel discussions, book giveaways, and more. Register for free on the event website.

Festival de Pandereta

September 18th | 1 - 8 PM

Hosted by Casa Sol and breakfast, lunch & dinner, this block party in Pope Park North is an all-day celebration of Hartford’s Latinx culture through food, art, live music, and dance. 

MakeFest 

September 18th | 11 AM - 3 PM

Experience live demonstrations, amazing displays, and hands-on activities led by local makers, visionaries, and artisans. Be sure to buy a timed ticket online to ensure you can experience the event.

Pop-Up Popup Palooza on Pratt Street

September 18th | 11 AM - 4 PM

Hartford Prints! is throwing the ultimate pop-up event and hosting over 25+ local vendors for a day of shopping, food, and music on Pratt Street. Stop by to shop local businesses and get an early head start on any holiday shopping.

Hartbeat Music Festival

September 18th | 11 AM - 9 PM

Stop by Mortensen Riverfront Plaza for a day of local art, food, and drink while enjoying an impressive lineup of Hartford’s most talented local bands and musicians. This is one of the premier music festivals in the city that you won’t want to miss – visit the event site for the full lineup.

Parkville Market Oktoberfest

September 20th - October 3rd 

CT’s first food hall is holding a two-week-long festival featuring a variety of fun-themed events. Highlights include German beer specials, a Biergarten featuring local breweries pouring on-site, and a special ticketed event collaborating with Sam Adams. You can view the whole lineup and purchase tickets on the event site.

Puppy Hour

September 22nd and 29th | 5 - 7 PM

Puppy Hour is returning to Pratt Street for two dates in September. Bring your pup and enjoy drink specials, dog lifestyle vendors, and dog treats with other dog owners. Or, come solo and enjoy being surrounded by the best pups in Hartford.

KNOW GOOD Nights

September 23rd | 6 -10 PM

The fourth Thursday of the month marks the return of breakfast, lunch & dinner’s KNOW GOOD Nights concept on Pratt Street. If you like food trucks, local vendors, and live DJs, you’re bound to have a good time. 

Picnic in the Park 

September 23rd | 5:30 - 7:30 PM

Hartford’s pandemic-friendly, outdoor event series continues in Bushnell Park. Enjoy a delicious basket from El Pollo Guapo, live music by Mariachi Corazón de Oro and drinks and desserts from Thomas Hooker Brewery and Capital Ice Cream. Purchase your basket in advance to snag your spot before they sell out!

Greater Hartford Latino Festival

September 25th | 12 PM - 7 PM

This annual celebration of Latino culture is back with musicians, vendors, and community leaders from throughout the region. The event is family-friendly, with a variety of activities and performers for everyone to enjoy.
